The discovery of covalent silver begins in 1954. At the tender age of twelve, while attending church services, the inventor (whose name is confidential) observed people receiving holy communion. Thus he thought that if he could suspend pure silver in pure water permanently then silver could operate more effectively internally, circulating throughout the body, destroying harmful micro-organisms. He designed a reactor that suspended pure silver in pure water and faxed the drawing to a trusted machinist in Colorado Springs who machined several vital components. After assembly, the reactor was taken to a friend in Pueblo, Colorado who had well water that he knew was chemical-free. He experimented with various water flow rates and electrical settings, and then went to several laboratories and universities attempting to generate interest for testing, but was repeatedly told that permanent suspension of a metal in water was impossible and against the laws of physics. In 1989, he traveled to an area in Venezuela swarming with mosquitoes (Genus Anopheles), with the intention of proving his theories by purposely infecting himself with a protozoan of the genus Plasmodium in red blood cells, which is transmitted to humans by the bite of an infected female anopheles mosquito. Without his wife's knowledge or consent, he allowed several malarial mosquitoes to bite him and transmit the infectious parasite. After the 21st day of incubation he awoke a very sick man with extreme chills and fever. He then admitted to his wife that he had purposely infected himself, and asked her to give him the weakest batch of covalent silver . As anticipated his recovery began internally within fifteen minutes, and astoundingly within several hours he regained the strength to get out of bed and swim in the pool. Later that evening he acquired the strength to venture out with his wife for dinner and a movie, as the symptoms continued to retreat and disappear. Continuing the treatment until completion has enabled him to remain symptom free since that day in 1989. The inventor met with Richard Leatherwood, a researcher who was attempting to market a device to disclose HIV from a drop blood. He began to theorize that covalent silver might eliminate HIV. Mr. Leatherwood, contacted Dr. Diagne, a professor of HIV research at UCLA and sent him samples of covalent silver. Seven months later Dr. Diagne reported the results; covalent silver had successfully destroyed 30 million diseased cultures, most of which were HIV. In 1994 Mr. Leatherwood took samples of covalent silver to Dr. Panza with Genesis-West Provida, Mexico for testing in vitro and in vivo for cancer patients. During a 21-day testing period, Dr. Panza and his group made a five and a half hour video filmed through an electron microscope, showing the destruction of parasites and yeast fungus in the blood. Water On The Space Station Decontaminated With Covalent Silver Reactor Technology On Earth, water that passes through animals' bodies is made fresh again by natural processes. Microbes in the soil break down urea and convert it to a form that plants can absorb and use to build new plant tissue. The granular soil also acts as a physical filter. Bits of clay cling to nutrients in urine electrostatically, purifying the water and providing nutrients for plants. Water excreted by animals also evaporates into the atmosphere and rains back down to the Earth as fresh water - a natural form of distillation. Water purification machines on the ISS partly mimic these processes, but they do not rely on microbes or any other living things. "While you try to mimic what's happening on Earth - which is so complicated if you really think about it - we have to use systems that we can control 100 percent," said Monsi Roman, chief microbiologist for the ECLSS project at MSFC. ECLSS depends on machines - not microbes - because, "if a machine breaks, you can fix it." The water purification machines on the ISS will cleanse wastewater in a three-step process. The first step is a filter that removes particles and debris. Then the water passes through the "multi-filtration beds," which contain substances that remove organic and inorganic impurities. And finally, the "catalytic oxidation reactor" (ed- Similar reactor used to make covalent oxygen-silver hydrosols) removes volatile organic compounds and kills bacteria and viruses. The text goes on to state, "The system for water recovery from humidity condensate has been upgraded for the International Space Station (ISS) and includes an assembly that will remove organic contaminants by catalytic oxidation in an air-liquid flow at ambient temperature and pressure upstream of the multifiltration bed. This should at least double the life of the multifiltration beds (Samsonov et al. 1997). The composition of the catalyst and the process is proprietary. In fact, this “filter reactor, ” an ambient-temperature catalytic reactor, has been in operation aboard Mir since January 1998."
Once the water is purified, astronauts will do everything possible to use it efficiently. "On the ground, people flick on the faucet and they probably waste a couple of liters of water just because it's free and the water pressure is high," notes Carter. "On the ISS, the water pressure will be about half what you might experience in a typical household," Carter said. "We don't use faucets on the ISS, we use a wash cloth. It's much more efficient. If you're an astronaut, you'll wet the wash cloth with a spray nozzle and then use the cloth to wash your hands." On the space station, people will wash their hands with less than one-tenth the water that people typically use on Earth. Instead of consuming 50 liters to take a shower, which is typical on Earth, denizens of the ISS will use less than 4 liters to bathe.

Once a germ has entered human cells, it becomes more difficult for drugs to attack the infection without also becoming toxic to those cells. But according to a research study published in the European Journal of Biochemistry, silver (and the other metals in this family) bring about a key reaction within the body´s defense system: the production of hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide is lethal to germs, but it´s not harmful to healthy human tissues when they´re protected by plenty of antioxidants. Although researchers have known of silver´s germ-fighting effects for decades, it wasn't until 2000 that scientists finally understood why it worked so well. But first, it´s important to understand antibiotics´ Achilles´ heel. Although germs have three vulnerable targets and a single antibiotic can attack only one of them at a time: (1) the germ´s outer membrane, (2) its internal components, or (3) its delicate gene pool. When a germ becomes resistant to an antibiotic, it has learned how to fortify the specific target that the antibiotic attacks. You would have to take several antibiotics to attack all of the germ´s targets simultaneously. But that sets the stage for further problems. Taking multiple antibiotics just increases the odds of wiping out enough friendly bacteria to allow an infection by various fungi (including Candida and other yeast). And in place of the friendly bacteria, “resistant’ bacteria set up camp, including the infamous, but all-too-common, hospital residents – staph aureus and clostridia. Antibiotics obviously don't have what it takes to nip these super-bugs in the bud. Silver attacks all three of the germ´s vulnerable targets at once. First, the silver ions easily rupture a germ´s outer membrane when present in the right amounts, causing the germs´ vital internal components to be exposed in the bloodstream to our white blood cells. While the white blood cells attack the internal components, the micro-particulate silver continues to destroy these vital internal components by cutting up vital enzymes. The silver ions then easily attack the germ´s third vulnerable target: its delicate gene pool. Silver ions have the ability to each into the nucleus of the germ, where its gene pool is located. Once they combine with the genes, the genes become paralyzed, and the germ cannot replicate itself. As mentioned earlier, one of the biggest problems with fighting off hostile germs – whether they are mycoplasm, bacteria, viruses, or fungi – is keeping the body´s cells safe and unharmed in the process. When a virus enters your body, it has to attach itself to your body´s cells in order to live, and it actually uses those cells to help reproduce itself. They are so intertwined that it is impossible to kill off he virus without killing your body´s cells in the process. Because of that, your immune system is basically on its own when it comes to fighting a virus after it has entered your body. It does this by creating antibodies that will kill that specific virus and will keep it from coming back again. One mainstream medical solution is to get a vaccine of the specific virus (such as small pox or the measles) before you contract it. That will cause your body to build up antibodies to the virus and prevent you from contracting the real thing (so they would lead us to believe). Once again, the problem occurs when the virus itself changes. Take the flu, for example. The flu is one of the most common viruses that we face every year. But it´s hard to stay ahead of it because new strains are always developing that are different from the ones that vaccines have been developed to treat. Many flu vaccines are a classic example of “fighting the last war’ over again, instead of the present one. Each year it becomes increasingly more clear that what we really need is a broad-spectrum antiviral agent that adresses the known harmful pathogens afflicting man and beast. This brings us once again to silver. A number of emerging medical studies confirm the antiviral properties of silver ions both in the laboratory and in real human studies against some of the most formidable viral organisms, including HIV and herpes. A study in 1991 showed that both zinc and silver ions strongly inhibited HIV infection. In 1993, the Washington Post cited laboratory tests showing that a new Japanese silver ion powder actually destroyed both HIV and herpes. And when silver is tied to oxygen, it can actually electrocute the germ-which has turned out to be a powerful new way to destroy viruses. Thus, the development of covalent silver, and then BIONAID™ by Burk-Elder: Hale, Third in 2007. Beginning in the 1970´s several independent researchers found that silver ions easily destroy Candida and other fungi. But it wasn´t until a pilot study during the mid 1990´s that included human patients suffering from terminal AIDS that medical researchers established solid evidence showing just how quick and effective silver ions can be in the treatment of Candida as well as HIV. In this study, nine individuals diagnosed as “near death’ were divided into two subgroups. One group suffered from HIV and terrible Candida infection. The other group suffered from both HIV and an extreme form of malnutrition (know as Wasting Syndrome). The researchers found that in both groups the Silver was capable of killing pathogens and purging the bloodstream of germ defenses in order to restore the immune system. One of the most exciting aspects of this study is the positive effect silver has on the severe blood disorders present with HIV. For example, it is well known that certain populations of immune cells called CD4 cells (a type of white blood cell) are greatly altered and deficient in people suffering from HIV. Although silver ions may initially cause a person´s blood cell counts to drop, the deficiency in the CD-4 cells is corrected within 24 to 72 hours. This is called the “rebound effect.’ Again, we make no medical claims as to the benefits of any of our products to improve medical conditions. As far back as 1916, researchers found that silver-based drugs increased the number of immune cells called leucocytes, while at the same time checking Staphylococcus septicemia, a severe and often lethal blood infection. After an initial decrease in red and white blood cells, silver ions caused a rapid increase in both types. But it wasn´t until 2001 that a single pilot study reported in the Clinical Practice of Alternative Medicine showed that high concentrations of a certain kind of Silver has the same results: At first, a dramatic and sharp decrease of the good blood cells, but then a rebound effect rapidly kicked in and resulted in total blood cell recovery. Another feature of certain immune cells that is vital to destroying germs is the ability of those cells to swallow and digest them. How fast or how slow these immune cells carry out this vital defensive action is called phagocytic index. In 1909, the Journal of the American Medical Association was the first medical journal to point out that Silver could actually increase our immune cells "phagocytic index". In the past few years, more studies have shown that Silver ions greatly enhance the essential second part of the "phagocytic index", the part where the germ is digested by our immune cells. This is brought about because Silver ions indirectly increase the "digesting juices" (what you know as hydrogen peroxide) of these immune cells by eliminating harmful micro-organisms with covalent silver. The smaller the size of the silver particle, the more likely it is to kill germs. Previously, the smallest silver particle preparations were between 14 and 26 nanometers. (A nanometer is one billionth of a meter.) But more recently, many natural medicine clinics and physicians have been working with a preparation of silver that has a confirmed uniform particle size of 0.8 nanometers. It is referred to as covalent silver. When this 0.8 nanometer-sized silver is used intravenously by physicians, it's often called "UPOSH" which is short for "ultra particulate uniform picoscalar silver hydrosol." Some products have particles even smaller. At sub-nanometer size, the covalent silver particles are tiny enough to be readily absorbed in your stomach, so they can easily penetrate into germs when properly delivered in the right amounts. Another benefit of quick absorption is that it protects the good bacteria in your digestive system. In contrast, as antibiotics travel deep into the intestinal tract, they destroy the protective bacteria that reside there, often causing diarrhea and yeast infections in the process. Occasionally, BIONAID™ could be so effective that the body can not handle a large and rapid dying off of micro-organisms.
